the Restaged Histories project is committed to ongoing works of contemporary performance. Informed by moments of history, they combine vintage stories with modern storytelling and boast some of Australia’s most skilful emerging artists. the Restaged Histories project explores a concept of today and tomorrow in the context of yesterday.

the Restaged Histories project is the creative duality of performance makers Nic Dorward and Kieran Swann who have been creating work together since 2004. Nic and Kieran are concerned with notions of post-colonialism, spectacle, entertainment, post-dramaticism, theatricality, and the interweaving of performance making, direction, and design. They are Artists-in-Residence at the Brisbane Powerhouse, with whom they continue to co-produce new work for touring.
